The Bed Store provides an extensive selection of items, including sleeper couches, headboards, pedestals, pillows, mattress protectors, pillow protectors, mattress toppers, in addition to mattresses and bed sets.

How do spring mattresses differ from foam mattresses

Foam mattresses consist of layers of foam without spring components, whereas spring mattresses incorporate a blend of springs and foam layers to enhance support and comfort.

What is a mattress guarantee and how does it work?

The guarantee or guarantee period means that if the bed or mattress fails due to a proven manufacturing fault or defect during this timeframe, the replacement for the same item will be provided at no cost.

What is a mattress warranties and how does it work?

The warranty or warranty period stipulates that if the bed or mattress experiences a verified manufacturing fault or defect within this timeframe, a warranty fee will be applied for the replacement of the mattress.

Is a firmer mattress a sign of better quality and a longer lasting mattress?

Having a super firm mattress doesn't guarantee it'll last forever(or over and above the recommended 8 year mattress time period). And there's no solid proof that a firmer bed equals better sleep—it's all about personal comfort preference. The lifespan of a mattress is dependent on factors such as the recommended weight limit of the specific mattress, the use of mattress protector, environmental, hygiene and a variety of other factors.

How long does it generally take for a mattress to break in?

Research states that an average break in period is up to 30 days. However, this period is largely determined on how your body adjusts to a new sleeping surface.

Do you have mattresses only options as well as bed sets/base sets options?

The Bed Store offers mattresses only for purchase, as well as an option to buy your mattress and base as a combination, known as a bed set or a base set. Each can be sold separately depending on your requirements.

How do firm, medium, and plush comfort levels differ from each other?

Firm

Firm mattresses represent the highest level of firmness among different comfort level options.

Medium

Medium mattresses offer a balanced level of comfort.

Plush mattresses provide a soft and cushioned surface

Does The Bed Store sell motion and adjustable beds?

The Bed Store does not currently offer a range of motion beds. You can find adjustable and motion beds at our sister brand, Dial•a•Bed.

Is it possible to buy a different base along with my mattress?

Bases can be purchased separately and paired with any mattress of the corresponding size and length. The Bed Store offers different brands of bases in corresponding sizes to the mattresses. In addition, we also offer queen size storage bases.

Is it necessary to get a new bed base when I buy a new mattress?

We suggest getting the mattress and base as a set, as each mattress is paired with a specific bed base. Explore our full range on our website.

How do firm, medium, and plush comfort levels differ from each other?

Why was my king size mattress delivered with 2 bed bases?

In order to provide extra support to the middle of the mattress, we've paired each king size mattress with 2 single bed bases.

Why is my mattress “too firm” when receiving?

A mattress is like a new pair of shoes and usually has a break-in period. The more you sleep on the bed, like a shoe, the more comfortable the bed, as it contours to your body.

Why does my mattress feel firmer/harder now compared to when I tried it in the store?

The mattresses in our stores have been around for a bit and have had its fair share of testing by other customers. So, it might not be exactly like what your bed feels like right after you buy it.

Do I need a mattress protector? Why are mattress protectors important?

Mattress Protectors are the superheroes that keep your mattress safe from spills, stains, and unexpected oopsies! Plus, it extends the warranty on your mattress should you need to exchange it.

Do mattress protectors fit extra-length mattresses?

All our mattress protectors are designed to fit both standard and extra-long mattresses.

Why does my bed sheet not fit my new mattress?

Mattresses come in different heights, depending on the brand and comfort level. Please refer to the product specifications online or speak to a member of our dream team in-store/online, to confirm the height, width and depth of the mattress.

How long does delivery take?

While our warehouses hold a large amount of inventory and strive to arrange delivery within 3 - 10 working days, certain products may need to be custom made and can take up to 21 days to be delivered. There are also instances where we could be awaiting new stock from a supplier which could take longer than the 21 day period.

In the event delivery has to take place outside of the Metropolitan or major cities areas (150 km from Metropolitan areas), delivery can take up to 14 working days.

How do I qualify for free* delivery?

Free delivery is offered on online purchases ONLY. The delivery address must be within a 30km radius of one of our stores, and the online cart/order must be to the value of R3 999.00 or more. Free delivery is not offered outside major metropolitan areas. As it stands, we only deliver to Gauteng and Kwazulu-Natal. Is it possible for me to pick up my order?

We provide different pickup locations that you can review during the online checkout process. It's important to note that not all of our stores serve as collection points. Due to this, please ensure that you arrange collection with the specific store or warehouse before picking up your items. Collection is is also dependent on stock availability. What steps can I take if my order has been damaged?

If your order arrives damaged, kindly refuse delivery and return the goods with the delivery driver. In case the goods were accepted, please promptly reach out to the store where the purchase was made.

Is there a delivery option, and how much does it cost?

The Bed Store delivers to Gauteng and Kwazulu-Natal only, and delivery charges will be based on the distance between your delivery address and the closest store location. A minimum delivery charge of R475.00 is applied within the 30km radius of the nearest The Bed Store retail location.

Who will assemble my bed on delivery?

Our delivery team is happy to help assemble and unpack your new bed upon delivery.

Can you take away my old bed?

We do not offer collection services for old mattresses.

Is it possible to postpone my delivery or select a specific date and time for the delivery?

After placing and paying for your order, our warehouse team will make contact with you via your preferred contact method. The team will advise on the next available delivery date, if the date does not align with your schedule, you may request an alternate date. Should you wish to postpone a delivery, please call the store at which you made your purchase or call our online support team on 086 100 7542 for orders made through our website.

What are your delivery schedules? Do you provide delivery services on weekends, Sundays, or public holidays?

Sunday deliveries are uncommon as our warehouse is closed.
